Congratulations to Logan Millett, Casco Sawmill’s 2025 Employee of the Year! Logan has been part of team Hancock for over eight years and has made an impact on almost every department in Casco. Logan started in the Planer Mill in July 2017 and picked up on all operations very quickly. In his time with the team, he’s been an amazing role model for all employees, positively affecting everyone in one way or another. His skills and knowledge are exceptional and he’s been a huge part of the team’s success over the years. Anything that Logan does, he does wholeheartedly and with intense effort. He will never shy away from a challenge and lives by the code of “leave it better than you found it.” On top of all of this, he has had many years here with perfect attendance. In the past year we developed a new quality role to help move our team make operational improvements. Logan has taken this new challenge and run with it, performing grade checks daily which, in turn, has helped our team focus on the most critical items in our operation. Logan is someone Casco can count on for absolutely anything and the team is grateful to have him. Well deserved and congrats Logan!
Driver Pro
Location: Kennebunk

My favorite part about being a driver is being out on the road. You get to go cool places, see cool things, and interact with the customers on the jobsite. I interact most with our shipping and logistics office while on my job. We call customers when we are on our way and it gives the customers an opportunity for any special instructions, these are people who are building or remodeling their home, you have to care about the project.
Finished Products Supervisor
Location: Bethel Sawmill

My role is anything and everything. Every aspect of the milling process down here, working with the sales team, scheduling team, all of it. When I applied here, I didn’t know anything, I was just a kid looking for a job. After I applied, I was offered a full-time job. Turns out I have a lot of interest in the career. It’s a really strong team and a very seamless operation here. It’s awesome and a lot of fun!

During her studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art, she was fascinated by the ways in which objects and space influence behavior. She spent years working in fabrication shops, honing her skills in metalwork, finishing and installation. She’s worked on projects ranging from enrichment design for chimpanzees to steel casework for local breweries. Outside of work, Shelby continues her art practice and spends time with friends, her partner, and her two Xoloitzcuintles.
“Being able to combine my creative skills and technical expertise to design kitchens that are both beautiful and functional is so rewarding. I love connecting with customers and making their kitchen visions become reality throughout this involved process.”
