In August 2013, our company president, Kevin Hancock, returned to South Dakota to see the progress on the house build that Hancock Lumber donated earlier in the year–and, to continue his quest to learn more about modern day life on the reservation. Kevin is currently writing a book that will be published in late 2014 that follows the past and current day Oglala Sioux tribe living on Pine Ridge.
To learn more about Kevin Hancock’s journey and book, please visit the Seventh Power website. The Seventh Power is a non-profit organization Kevin Hancock created that is committed to increasing AWARENESS of the history of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, the broken promises made by our nation to all the tribes of the Northern Plains and to the current economic and social challenges of modern day life at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.Tags: community, Hancock house, Indian Reservation, Kevin Hancock, Oglala Sioux, Pine Ridge
