Hancock Named Best Place to Work in Maine, 4-Years in a Row!

Best Places BannerHancock Named Best Place to Work in Maine, 4-Years in a Row!

For the fourth consecutive year, Hancock Lumber has been named a Best Places to Work in Maine!

Being honored four times in a row takes every person on Team Hancock – from leadership to front line employees – staying focused on this topic every day and working diligently on truly being a best place to work in Maine. Hancock Lumber is serious about continuous improvement and dedicated to its culture, creating an environment where employees respect and listen to each other and work to achieve common goals.

Seadogs Best Places to Work BannerCompany President, Kevin Hancock, circulated a message to employees upon hearing the news, “I am super excited that we are a ‘Best Places to Work in Maine’ for the 4th year in a row. Everyone contributes to the work culture so every person is responsible for this award! CONGRATULATIONS! Work should be a place where people learn, grow, and feel important.  We spend too much time at work to not make work a valuable experience. I love how we are redefining what a lumber company can be about. Thank you!”

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2017 Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of 80 companies in three size categories: small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees) and large (250+ U.S. employees). With over 450 employees, Hancock Lumber participates in the large company category.

Royal River Hancock TeamHuman Resources Director and 30+ year Hancock veteran, Wendy Scribner, commented on the news, “There are many parts, pieces, and responsibilities associated with being chosen as a Best Place to Work in Maine, but my gratitude and appreciation go to the amazing group of people we refer to as ‘Team Hancock’ who have chosen our company as a place to build their career.  To be a ‘Best Place to Work’ for 4 consecutive years requires everyone’s participation in creating a work culture where people can have fun, feel valued, and want to grow. Congratulations to each one of us for achieving this award!”

Hancock Lumber will be recognized at the Best Places to Work in Maine awards ceremony on October 10 and will be listed in a special publication by Mainebiz. The final rankings will be announced at the event.
