Veterans Rebuilding America

Builders of Ogunquit using 100% American made building materials!

John Mixon, a contractor edinnessand owner of Builders of Ogunquit, is passionate about rebuilding the American economy and doing so with an all Veteran workforce and using 100% Made in the USA products! Right now he’s currently building a house a few miles away from Ogunquit’s busy downtown center using all Veteran labor and American-made products.  This project is a first of its kind, thanks to Mixon’s vision, energy and passion to drive the economy and support those who have given everything for our freedom.  When complete, the house will be sold for profit at market rates.  The hope is to inspire pride of ownership in a home built in this fashion and encourage others to follow suit.

“It’s up to “Us” to get America and particularly our Veterans back to work.  After WWII it was the housing industry that led us to prosperity.  We were not buying Chinese hardware or Canadian lumber, but buying locally made items and made in the USA products.  We put our returning Veterans back to work and created one of the strongest economic periods in US history that led us out of the Great Depression.  We can do this again.  As most people understand, the housing market can drive the economy from recession to prosperity!”

– John Mixon, Builders of Ogunquit

In conjunction with John’s account manager, Ed Inness, Hancock’s product management team has helped John procure 100% American made products for this project, featuring made-in-Maine Mathews Brothers windows and our own signature grown and made-in-Maine Hancock pine.
