Ed is a Licensed Forester in both New Hampshire and Maine. For the majority of his 40 year career, Ed has managed timberland and timber harvesting operations, as well as wood procurement for the last 25 years.  For the last 18 years at Madison Lumber, Ed has procured eastern white pine logs and stumpage from non-industrial, private landowners.  Ed takes particular interest in managing timberland for the benefit of wildlife, utilizing his degree in Wildlife Management.  In his free time, Ed is an avid woodturner and spends much of his free time making bowls and other items on the lathe–and, he even owns his own portable sawmill!  Residing in Madison, NH with his wife and four Golden Retrievers, Ed also enjoys ATVing, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.

A part of Team Hancock since 2016, Ray transitioned into purchasing logs in 2021 and covers northern New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. Ray has an extensive background the the trucking industry as a former driver for Hartt Transportation, KB Corporation, and Cross Excavation, as well as experience scaling eastern white pine logs for Hancock Lumber’s Bethel mill. Ray’s experience as a truck driver makes him a great fit as a log buyer, as he can also coordinate and schedule backhaul trucks from all regions. Ray resides in Hanover with his wife, Erin and son, Chase.

Butch joined Hancock lumber in July of 2021 as the log procurement forester for the Pittsfield sawmill, bringing with him 30-years of forest products industry experience. A professional forester by trade, Butch received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and Timber Utilization with a minor in Botany from the University of Maine.  Following his undergraduate degree, Butch received a Certificate of Post Graduate Studies in Business Administration from the University of Maine.

A member of Team Hancock since 2009, Rocky is part of our log procurement team at the Bethel mill covering northwestern Maine and northeastern NH. Rocky takes pride in developing relationships with his logging contractors and landowners servicing them with the highest level of customer engagement. An avid outdoorsman, Rocky enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He lives in Peru with his wife.

John handles log procurement in southern New England and New York. Prior to joining Team Hancock, John purchased logs and timber in the region for nearly four decades. In addition to John’s vast industry experience, he also holds a certificate under the NHPLP, is on the BOD for the NHTOA, and is an active licensed forester in NH, VT, and MA. John has extensive history in scaling, standing timber assessments, forest engineering, and is a great resource/partner for landowners, loggers, and foresters. In his free time, John enjoys hunting, fishing, shooting sports, and being outside.

Jeff celebrates 40-years of service on Team Hancock in 2022 bringing an absolute wealth of experience to his log procurement role based out of the Casco mill. Throughout his career at Hancock Lumber Jeff has been involved with everything from retail leadership and timberland management to his current role as a log buyer. Today Jeff spends his time working with Southern + Western Maine and Eastern New Hampshire logging contractors and landowners. Over the years Jeff has been involved in many community endeavors from youth coaching to helping run Casco Days. Fun fact—his family has been in the town of Casco for as many generations as Hancock Lumber has operated, dating back to the 1800’s.  Jeff resides in Casco, is the proud father of three children he shares with his wife, Rebecca, and enjoys spending his time outdoors hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.
