Paul Wainman

President + CEO

Paul Wainman 2024

Paul joined Team Hancock in 2016 as CFO. Prior to joining Hancock Lumber, Paul gained extensive experience in both finance and management with market leading brands including Hallmark/William Arthur and Kleinfeld Paper. In January 2020, he became the eighth President of the company. Paul transitioned into his new role of President + CEO in January 2023.

Mark Hopkins

Mark Hopkins

Mark joined Team Hancock in 1996, working as a Counter Pro at our Yarmouth location. Mark then went on to become an AM for many successful years, until being named the Bridgton GM in 2012. Mark transitioned to Retail Sales Manager in January 2015, followed by his role as Retail COO in September of 2015. In late 2024, Mark earned a promotion to companywide Chief Operating Officer. 

Hillary Roy

Hillary Roy

Following over two decades and many leadership roles at Hannaford, Hillary joined the executive leadership team in the fall of 2024 as Chief People Officer. Hillary’s energy, presence, local roots, hands-on operational management, direct human engagement background, and appetite to learn combine to make her an excellent cultural fit and person for this role. 

Florian Knappe

Chief Financial Officer

Florian Knappe

Florian joined Team Hancock in 2023 as CFO bringing with him extensive geographical and financial background. He has held several executive leadership roles in Europe and the US. Florian also has extensive building products knowledge having being a CFO for a Maine based deck manufacturer. Most recently, he was the Director of Finance for Maine Technical Source.

Rebecca Hatfield

Chief Strategy + Growth Officer

Rebecca Hatfield

Rebecca joined the team in January 2025, following her tenure as President + CEO of Avesta Housing. Previous roles in finance, strategy, real estate development, construction services, property management, and leadership, combined with her strategic, collaborative business approach and people-first mentality add value and depth to Team Hancock’s leadership team. Maine Magazine ‘Mainer of the Year’ and Mainebiz magazine ‘Woman to Watch’ are two of many accolades she’s earned. 

Matt Duprey

Chief Sales Officer – White Pine

Matt Duprey

A member of Team Hancock since 1994, Matt has made a lasting impact on our company and industry. With a Forestry and Wood Science + Technology degree, Matt oversees our logistics and mill scheduling group, along with all customer relations and programs related to our eastern white pine business. Matt has held the role of Chief Sales Officer since May of 2021.

Erin Plummer

Erin Plummer

Following her graduation from Amherst College, Erin joined Team Hancock and has been leading marketing and communication efforts since 2007. Currently the Chief Marketing Officer, Erin is a dedicated steward of Hancock’s 175+ year-old brand—she champions internal storytelling, customer-focused initiatives, and community engagement efforts. In 2016 Erin was one of four recipients nationwide to be recognized for her leadership in the LBM industry. Mainebiz recognized Erin as a “40 Under 40” honoree in 2022. 

Mike Hall

Mike Hall

Mike has over three decades of industry experience and officially joined Team Hancock in 2004 during the Marriner Lumber acquisition. An in-house developer and innovation strategist, Mike has married his passion for the lumber and building materials industry with his knowledge and skills to develop industry-leading technology business solutions for Team Hancock’s employees and customers. 

Kevin Hancock

Managing Owner / Chairman

Kevin Hancock

Kevin Hancock is the Managing Owner + Chairman of his seventh-generation family business, Hancock Lumber, as well as an award-winning author, nationally recognized keynote speaker, and executive coach. Over the last decade, Kevin has written books, spoken locally and nationally, developed and co-hosted executive coaching programs, and created content that fuels his website, The Business of Shared Leadership. The mission of his personal website is to heighten RESPECT FOR ALL VOICES. “If everyone on Earth felt trusted, respected, valued, and heard, what might change?” Kevin believes that everything might change—and, most importantly, that the workplace can and must become a catalyst for this transformation.

Kevin is also an award-winning author and speaker. His first published book, “Not For Sale: Finding Center in the Land of Crazy Horse,” won three national book awards. In 2020, Post Hill Press published his second book, “The Seventh Power: One CEO’s Journey into the Business of Shared Leadership.” Released in 2021, Kevin’s third book, “48 Whispers from Pine Ridge and the Northern Plains,” is a hybrid book of sorts——part photography and part thoughts for reflection, heightened self-awareness, and human advancement.

Kevin has worked at the company since 1991 and is part of the seventh generation of his family to help lead the organization. A family-owned integrated forest products company since 1848, Hancock Lumber is passionate about its people-first and values driven culture. Over the course of his career, Kevin has received the Ed Muskie ‘Access to Justice’ award, the Habitat for Humanity ‘Spirit of Humanity’ award, the Boy Scouts of America ‘Distinguished Citizen’ award, and Timber Processing Magazine’s ‘Person of the Year’ award. He is also a past chairman of the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association. Kevin’s work has been featured in both The New York Times and Inc. Magazine.

Kevin is a frequent visitor to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota and an advocate of strengthening the voices of all individuals through listening, empowering, and shared leadership.

Kevin is a graduate of Lake Region High School and Bowdoin College.  He lives in Maine with his wife, Alison.  Together they have two adult children, Abby and Sydney.
