Bob Shultz

Bob Shultz

Bob Shultz joined Hancock Lumber’s board of directors in the fall of 2023. While born and raised outside of Boston, Bob has always had a deep love of Maine where his family spent many summers during his youth. He attended Bowdoin College and graduated with a degree in Economics while playing for the Polar Bears men’s soccer team. It was at Bowdoin, where he and his wife met and became friends with both Kevin and Alison Hancock. After graduating from Bowdoin, Bob worked at Deloitte where he earned his CPA certification. His career journey has led him to both finance and operational positions in retail, energy, and manufacturing. Most recently and prior to moving back to Maine from Minnesota, he spent the core of his career as an executive at 3M Company for nearly two decades. While at 3M he led merger and acquisition efforts and was the division CFO for its $3 billion automotive and aerospace OEM business.  Additionally, he is a six-sigma master black belt with considerable experience in business process improvement.  Desiring to leverage his strengths in a smaller, more intimate company, Bob’s career path led him back to Maine. Today Bob is the President and CFO at Puritan Medical Products, a Maine based family business, established in 1918, with approximately 400 employees in Guilford and Pittsfield, Maine. Bob is an amazing person and businessman with a connection the Hancock family, our company, and our culture.

When I started here, I didn’t know anything about the lumber industry. I didn’t know anything beyond what plywood was and a two by four. I learned a lot in the yard, working with the materials, working with the contractors, talking to them about their day, what they’re working on. They’re great. They want to share a lot of information, teaches you how to handle it and what they’re doing.

Then I moved inside into the computers and everything else. The biggest thing to help me advance my career has always been I’ll do anything, go anywhere that I’m asked to go. So doing that, I’ve worked at six different locations. And at each location, I’ve been able to build up a lot of great relationships, with a lot of people there.

Abby Doherty

Abby Doherty

With a career rooted in business development and enterprise sales, Abby has built a strong track record of driving growth and forging strategic partnerships across the tech industry. Serving in roles such as Senior Partner Relations Manager and Enterprise Account Executive, she’s led key alliance initiatives and partner engagement. Abby has specialized in managing complex accounts, securing new business, and delivering scalable solutions to high-profile clients. Currently a Senior Account Executive at Datadog, Abby has grown into this role becoming an expert in targeting and closing new business with their largest, most strategic customers and prospects. A graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Abby majored in American Studies while playing on the women’s basketball team and serving as team captain her senior year.

“It’s hard to put into words what being connected to the Hancock Lumber team has meant and continues to mean to me. I’m so proud to support a company that leads with purpose, puts people first, and continues to evolve while staying true to its roots. As a seventh-generation member of the Hancock family, I have a deep commitment and appreciation for our company’s culture and legacy—I am honored to contribute to our future through board service.”

While Abby, her husband Connor, two daughters and French Bulldog call Maine home, you can often find the foursome traveling to live alongside Connor during his professional hockey season—most recently journeying to Southwest Florida. Abby enjoys spending time with family, traveling, staying active, and supporting local causes close to her heart.

Syd Rouleau

Log Yard Manager

Syd Rouleau

The White Pine Operations Center is pleased to announce Syd Rouleau as their 2025 Employee of the Year! Syd has a very easy-going personality, great work ethic, and tackles any task that is asked of him.
