Nik Conrad

Nik Conrad

Born and raised in Andover, Maine, Nik joined Team Hancock after a semester of college. Throughout high school, Nik worked a variety of jobs in landscaping and the restaurant business. After first getting hired through a temp agency, Nick worked on the pull chain for over half a year. Following a brief leave for surgery, Nik returned as a full time Hancock employee. Eager to learn, Nik took advantage of training opportunities, establishing himself across the planer, moulder, and shipping departments. Eventually, Nik earned the floor lead position for the moulder where he’s excelled at helping run a happy and efficient department. Nik takes pride in the work he does and looks forward to his future at Hancock Lumber.

David Blaker

Dave Blaker

A member of Team Hancock for over 15-years, Dave began his career as a Driver Pro and has experience driving boom truck, moffett, flat bed, and box trucks. This experience helped greatly when he transitioned into Windham’s Yard Expeditor. Dave’s knowledge of how to do deliveries with any type of truck helped him to organize customer orders and loading of trucks in the most efficient manner. Following this role, Dave moved into the Millwork Handler position and did an excellent job helping to organize and load millwork orders. Dave’s product knowledge, along with his mental map of knowing exactly where every place we ever need to go has helped tremendously in keeping millwork orders well organized. With the new moves in Windham’s Millwork building in 2020, Dave is now the Millwork Specialist and has great knowledge of product and holds a high standard for what we expect from our vendors. Dave works great with others and is always looking to help when he can. He is always engaged with what is going on around him and looking out for others. We are extremely happy to have him on our team. Anyone that knows Dave knows that it is amazing what he can remember; whether it is a delivery address or knowing where the special order is without having to look it up, his recall is unlike any other. We are very grateful for all he does and how he does it—thank you, Dave, for the work you do and the way you do it!!

As Inventory Manager I work with everyone here in the yard. I work with all the Yard Pros, the Order Coordinators, the Logistic Manager, and even the Counter Pros, Inside Sales and the Account Managers. I started here four years ago as a YardPro and I was given the opportunity to take on the inventory manager role, and it’s been great. I’ve been able to utilize my skills in this position and help the company succeed. Some of the skills you need to be successful as inventory manager are multi-tasking, organization, thinking ahead, planning ahead, and just knowing what product you need and when you need it. I like working here because it’s a team atmosphere. We all have to get a job done and we all help each other out, and that’s huge. It’s one of the biggest things we do. Everyone has their own separate job, but at the end of the day, everyone pulls together to get done what we need to. At Hancock Lumber we’re looking for self-starters, positive attitudes, and people who want to be part of a team environment. When I see the jobsite signs on the side of the road for Hancock Lumber, it makes me feel proud. It makes me feel good that I’m working for such a great company we’re all over Maine and New Hampshire. We’re helping people build dream homes everywhere.

I started out 13-years ago as a Driver Pro. First, I started in the pickup, then they got me signed off on a box truck and a flat bed, and eventually I was asked to move up to a boom truck. So now, I literally can drive every truck in our yard. Hancock Lumber’s safety program is number one. And, one of the main things is GOAL – get out and look. One thing that I like about this company is that as a Driver if you do feel that a situation is unsafe, they will back you and you can come back with the product and return another day when it is safe. When you see some of these places that you’ve delivered to and what they ended up looking like, they’re just beautiful and Hancock is a big part of that, which is awesome and rewarding. As a Driver we see the customers more than anybody. As a Hancock representative I want to make sure that every one of my visits to a customer counts in a positive manner. One of the things I like most about working here is the teamwork—everybody works together.

I’ve been here at Hancock Lumber for 15-years. I started out building wall panels in our panel shop and transitioned into being an inventory manager in Windham. As inventory manager I’m responsible for protecting our assets, overseeing all the special order and stock products that come through our store. I like working at Hancock Lumber because of the people that I work with and I enjoy helping customers to make sure they get the correct product. I enjoy coming to work, interacting with people I work with, and communicating with people at our other locations. Here at Hancock we’re always looking for new employees that fit into our culture—people who are outgoing, always looking to do more, learn more, and want to grow with our us.
