Team Hancock is thrilled to announce our Marketing Specialist Sydni Delano was recently awarded the 2026 Rising Star award from the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce at their annual awards dinner in late October. The Rising Star award recognizes a business owner or individual who is up and coming + makes a positive impact on the Oxford Hills community. Seeking an opportunity to further her marketing career, Sydni joined Hancock Lumber in March of 2026 and has made an immediate impact across the company.
Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce board member Leanna Bowie had this to say about Sydni at the ceremony,
“I want to start by talking about who Sydni is as a person, because I think that matters just as much as her professional accomplishments. Sydni is strong. She is authentic. And she is an incredibly hard worker. When Sydni is passionate about something, she gives it her all. She doesn’t give up when things get difficult. That determination is a big part of what makes her so special.
Sydni started as an intern at Bearfoot Realty, where she learned the ropes of the real estate industry. While earning her bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing at USM, she continued building her experience at Turn Key Homes. From website design, marketing, to social media, Sydni found her creative side and truly flourished. Her skills quickly gained recognition, and she began taking on freelance work for local businesses, sharing her skills and helping them grow.
But what makes Sydni such a deserving recipient of this award is that her impact goes far beyond her work. Sydni has dedicated countless hours to Oxford Hills Cheering and athletics, both working and volunteering her time. From coaching to marketing, she has a natural talent for what she does, and other teams quickly recognized it and wanted her marketing talent, too.
