Hancock Lumber recently welcomed community members to its Bethel Sawmill for a special behind-the-scenes tour organized by the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce as part of the annual Bethel HarvestFest weekend. The event provided local residents and visitors with the opportunity to see first-hand how Eastern White Pine logs are transformed into the world class pine boards that Hancock Lumber is known for and featured in construction projects across Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

We would like to thank the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce for planning and promoting this unique community event. Bringing people together to learn more about local manufacturing and Maine’s forest products industry helps strengthen connections within the communities we proudly serve. Our manufacturing teams are some of the hardest working, amazing people around and it’s always fun to show off their talents.

As a longtime supporter of the Bethel community, Hancock Lumber is also proud to be the presenting sponsor of the annual HarvestFest celebration, one of the region’s most anticipated fall events. Each year, HarvestFest showcases the best of Western Maine through community activities, local business promotions, entertainment, and seasonal traditions.
Tour attendees had the chance to walk through the sawmill and learn about the manufacturing process from the people who make it happen every day. Special thanks to Keith Trask, General Manager of Hancock Lumber’s Bethel Sawmill, and Larry Skillin, who led groups through the facility and shared their knowledge of the operation, equipment, and products produced at the site.

“It’s always a pleasure to welcome members of our community through our doors and share a closer look at what we do. We take great pride in our people, our process, and the quality products we produce. Opportunities like this allow us to showcase the hard work, craftsmanship, and dedication that go into every board we make.” Bethel Mill, General Manager, Keith Trask

We appreciate everyone who signed up, joined the tour, and took an interest in learning more about one of Maine’s iconic industries. Thank you again to the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce for helping make this event possible, and we look forward to continuing our partnership through community events like HarvestFest and beyond.
