Hancock Lumber has long been a cornerstone of the Maine community—known for eastern white pine manufacturing and supplying high-quality building materials—but also for its people-first and values driven culture along with their commitment to giving back. This year, members from our Brunswick location organized a group to participate in the annual Miles for Mills 5K, a charity event that raises funds for the Travis Mills Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting recalibrated veterans and their families.
The Miles for Mills 5K is much more than a footrace; it’s a celebration of strength, perseverance, and community support. Established by the Travis Mills Foundation, the event pays tribute to veterans who have overcome life-altering injuries sustained in service to their country. Proceeds from the event go directly toward programs that benefit veterans and their families, offering them the resources, support, and encouragement they need to thrive in civilian life.
Held annually on Memorial Day weekend, the event draws participants from all walks of life—veterans, civilians, families, and businesses—all united by a common goal: to honor the sacrifices of service members and to contribute to a cause that uplifts those who have given so much.
As the race began, Hancock Lumber’s team joined hundreds of other participants on the scenic course. Along the way, they were cheered on by volunteers, spectators, and even some of the veterans benefiting from the foundation’s programs.
