Free Mechanized Logging Operations & Forest Trucking (MLOFT) Program

Mechanized Logging Operations Course

Do you know someone looking to get into the logging industry ? Take a look at this free logging operations and trucking program today! Created by three Maine Community Colleges in partnership with the Professional Logging Contractors of Maine, this free program is available to start a career in logging and forest trucking.

An iconic industry in Maine and New Hampshire, the logging industry has many unfilled positions due to needing qualified operators who are skilled in modern equipment. This program is designed to get you started in a career as an equipment operator and will teach you what it takes to be a well-trained equipment operator as part of a safe, production-oriented harvesting team. Our entire sawmill division relies on logging professionals working in the woods to harvest and truck eastern white pine sawlogs to our mills. Our team of log buyers maintains relationships with professional loggers and procures the raw material to manufacture into eastern white pine boards.

Giving you a broad overview of the most common mechanical systems found in modern timber harvesting equipment and an understanding of the variables of timber growth, tree species, market flux and a strong emphasis on safety, this program is a one-of-a-kind–and FREE! Courses will be hands-on in a forest environment, operating the most current equipment in the industry, with dynamic classroom learning to help you become a professional in the logging industry. Take advantage of this free logging operations program and share with anyone in your network who may be interested in a career in this iconic and critical industry!

Next year’s Mechanized Logging Program will start June 23, 2025.
