When Samantha began dreaming about retirement in the summer of 2024, she wasn’t just imagining more free time—she was envisioning a new way of living. After 27 years in her Massachusetts home, she was ready for a change: something more economical, sustainable, and located in the calm of Downeast Maine. Thanks to a gifted acre of land in Hancock, Maine—a place her family has cherished for generations—the dream began to take shape.

As she researched her options, Samantha first explored modular homes. While practical, they still came with a hefty price tag and a lengthy construction timeline. Then, a friend posted on social media about their own experience buying a tiny home from Tiny Homes of Maine—and everything started to click.

“I think it was July 2024 when I first reached out and had a phone call with Corinne at Tiny Homes of Maine. From then on, I was certain that was the route I wanted to go.” —Samantha Lee
From that point forward, Samantha was paired with Sales + Office Coordinator Maggie Small, who became her guide through every step of the process. With the sale of her Massachusetts home finalized in early 2025, things began to move quickly. In April, Samantha made the journey to Dyer Brook to see the models in person and make her downpayment on the Sebago model, a thoughtfully designed tiny home perfect for her needs.

New tiny homeowner, Samantha, commented on the process, “Despite the drive from Southern Maine where I’ve been living since March, it was such a fun day. The whole team was so welcoming. Working with Maggie has been a pleasure—communication was always prompt, and she always took time to answer my endless questions.”
Maggie takes immense pride in guiding homeowners through the process from start to finish. “After her visit, I helped guide Samantha step by step, starting with site preparation recommendations, moving into design and color selections, financing, and all the way through to delivery day. She immediately started making progress, reaching out and getting her site work planning underway. Samantha was such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process.” —Maggie Small

After months of planning, building, and coordinating, delivery day arrived. Samantha shared with the team that the most exciting parts were driving down the road and seeing the house for the first time. Then, getting to go inside and see everything in person was so amazing. Delivery days aren’t only an exciting moment for new homeowners. Maggie, who has helped Samantha from the conception of her home, was on site for the big reveal and commented on seeing the homeowner’s reaction,

“I don’t often get the chance to be onsite when homes are delivered, so being there for Samantha’s delivery was one of my favorite parts of this project. It was so special to see her step inside her new home for the first time and to meet many of her family members who came by to celebrate and take a look.” —Maggie Small
Now settled into her new Sebago tiny home, Samantha has spent her first few nights there and plans to gradually move in over the next few months. With two dogs by her side and the peaceful woods of Downeast Maine outside her door, she’s already envisioning ways to personalize and maximize the space.
“There are so many things I’m looking forward to. I’m so grateful to be able to live in such natural beauty, looking at the trees out my window and being able to walk out the door in the morning with my dogs. Thank you to Maggie, Tiny Homes of Maine, and Hancock Lumber for my beautiful new Sebago home!” —Samantha Lee
