Last week, members of Team Hancock and Tiny Homes of Maine gathered in Saco on a beautiful sunny day to host our Tiny Home Open House event. Nearly 300 homeowners, builders, developers, and community members visited the site tour the furnished 10×38 Baxter model on display, meet with vendors and ask product questions, and enjoy food from L/A Taco and Mow’s Munchies food trucks—and, learn more about tiny home living and the process of purchasing one through Hancock Lumber.
Tiny Homes of Maine General Manager Corinne Watson, Design and Production Manager Tom Small, and Sales + Office Coordinator Maggie Small represented the Dyer Brook manufacturing team during the event to answer questions and provide education about tiny homes, state of Maine laws, and much more.

“Our open house isn’t just about showcasing beautiful tiny homes—it’s about creating an opportunity for people to truly experience what tiny living feels like. Walking through the space, opening cabinets, standing in the kitchen, or imagining how they could gather in the living area makes it real in a way that photos never can. We believe education is a huge part of helping people see that tiny homes aren’t about giving up comfort—they’re about living smarter, more sustainably, and with more freedom. Events like this allow us to answer questions, clear up misconceptions, and show that thoughtful design can make a smaller footprint feel expansive and inspiring.”
—Corinne Watson, General Manager, Tiny Homes of Maine
“The open house was such a fantastic event! I loved connecting with everyone in person, hearing their stories, and sharing what we do. Moments like this are a big part of why I love being on the Tiny Homes of Maine team.”
—Maggie Small, Sales + Office Coordinator

“This was the first open house event we’ve collaborated on since Hancock Lumber acquired Tiny Homes of Maine in October of 2024,” commented Hancock Lumber’s Chief Marketing Officer, Erin Plummer. “Having the staged Baxter model home on site in Saco—right at the border of Cumberland and York counties—is generating tremendous visibility and opportunities for interested buyers to tour and experience tiny home living. It’s energizing to see so much interest in tiny home construction, the various models and living spaces we offer, and how tiny homes can be a viable, affordable housing option here in Maine and beyond.”
—Erin Plummer, Hancock Lumber Chief Marketing Officer
