Eddie Cox, long time Commodity Buyer for Team Hancock will be celebrating his retirement at the end of 2024, marking the end of his 14-year career with Hancock Lumber.
Eddie joined us in November of 2010 as a Product Category Manager after a previous 21-year career with Roper Bros Lumber Company. Eddie has always been part of the purchasing team family, where he worked his way into his current role as a Commodity Buyer in 2012.

As many of you may or may not know, Eddie is retiring at the end of this year, marking the close of an incredible 14-year journey at Hancock Lumber. When I joined Hancock Lumber a little over five years ago, Eddie played an instrumental role in my transition. His focus on ensuring I was seamlessly integrated into the purchasing team, without missing a beat, was a key factor in any success I’ve experienced here. It wasn’t just about the processes or the logistics—Eddie led with kindness, patience, and genuine care, setting an example I strive to emulate every day.
Eddie’s influence goes far beyond our company walls. In our industry, he’s nothing short of a legend—a respected voice and a trusted partner whose reputation for integrity precedes him. Those of us fortunate enough to work alongside him have benefited not only from his professional expertise but also from his generous spirit and friendship.
