LBM Journal recently released their annual 40 Under 40 list, a recognition honoring young leaders in our industry. Team Hancock is proud to announce that our Brunswick General Manager, Rob Riley, was honored as a 2024 LBM Journal 40 Under 40 award recipient!
Rob’s journey at Hancock Lumber is one built on internal advancement, hard work and mentorship, a story we’ve seen many times and love to share. In 2014 Rob began his career as a Yard Pro at our Bridgton lumberyard. From there, he moved to Casco Retail as a Counter Pro. Seeing a need in Bridgton to help manage our inventory process, Rob was offered to take on the role of inventory specialist where he remained until 2017.
Then, an exciting new opportunity and big move became available. Rob, his wife Marissa (also a member of Team Hancock), and their two daughters moved to the Western United States. However, he couldn’t stay away for very long. Rob and his family returned in 2019 where he took a position in the yard at our North Conway store. From 2019 – 2021, Rob continued to gain valuable experience across the company in various capacities at both our Kennebunk and Saco locations. Rob’s leadership, willingness to do what’s best, and dedication landed him in the position of General Manager at our Brunswick location in 2021, where he’s been ever since.

Rob is the second Team Hancock member recognized as a LBM Journal 40 Under 40 in as many years. In 2023 the publication named Retail HR Manager John Muzzy a recipient as well. In years past, ProSales Magazine recognized two other Team Hancock members with a similar award, with James Giglotti and Erin Plummer getting recognized as a “Four Under 40” award recipient in 2021 and 2016 respectively. Congratulations to these industry role models and change makers who make Hancock Lumber a better place!
