Hancock Lumber Donates $25,000 to the Maine Business Relief Fund

In partnership with The Retail Association of Maine and the Maine Grocers and Food Producers Association, Hancock Lumber donated $25,000 to the newly established Maine Business Relief Fund. The fund was created in the wake of the devastating storm on December 18, 2023 that crumbled many businesses across the state. This storm brought severe flooding, road washouts, and prolonged power outages that resulted in heavy financial and physical losses for many Mainers.

Fourteen of Maine’s sixteen counties were included in Governor Mills’ Emergency Declaration and are eligible to apply for ‘Maine Business Relief Funds’ (York and Cumberland County businesses are not eligible to apply). Eligible businesses are those that were directly impacted by flooding, lost or damaged inventory, or extended power outages resulting in lost sales—due to high demand and limited funds, online applications are now closed.

Team Hancock takes great pride in supporting local Maine businesses and our donation is one way of giving back to a state we call home and helping those affected by the powerful ‘Grinch’ storm!
