Congratulations to Mike Boulet, General Manager of Mainely Trusses, who received the Retail Lumber Dealers Association of Maine’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his incredible contributions to the industry. Mike has worked at Mainely Trusses since 1993, a business his father started and ran for many years. Managing Owner of Hancock Lumber, Kevin Hancock, presented Mike with the award on September 16th along with RLDAM’s President, JoAnne Tarr (Designer, Hancock Lumber Augusta and daughter of former Lapointe Lumber owner, Dick Tarr).
About Mike’s Career
Mike entered the industry when he was a teenager, working spring breaks and summer vacations at his family’s business, Mainely Trusses. His father founded Mainely Trusses in 1991, a company located in Central Maine that designs, engineers, manufactures and delivers roof and floor trusses across New England. While never planning to go full-time in the family business, Mike found himself working for the company upon graduation from Bryant University. In 1993, Mike’s father unexpectedly and tragically passed away. With this life-altering curveball, Mike ended up stepping up and ultimately acquired all shares of Mainely Trusses by 1996. From there, Mike never looked back and continued to grow the company, evolve the business, and honor his father’s legacy.
In 2000, Mike moved his business and employees to a new facility, custom-built for the product and the company’s needs. He installed automated equipment, improved processes, and grew the workforce from six to 50 people. Eventually, Mike sold the company to Hancock Lumber, where he continues to work and lead his team.
Congratulations, Mike, on receiving this Lifetime Achievement Award that represents your commitment, hard work, and enthusiasm for this industry and Maine as a whole.
