Habitat for Humanity Home Dedication in Saco

Habitat Home Dedication

Back row, left to right: Amy Nucci, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity York County; Steve Rickert, Hancock Lumber York County Regional GM; Sarah Thibault, new homeowner; Rob Riley, Hancock Lumber Saco Store Leader; Erin Plummer, Hancock Lumber Chief Marketing Officer; along with Sarah’s five boys!

Habitat for Humanity celebrated its newest homeowners with a special home dedication ceremony last week. Members from Team Hancock had the privilege of attending York County Habitat for Humanity’s latest home dedication in Saco, a project Hancock Lumber supported by donating 100% of the building materials.

During the build out of Hancock’s new Saco lumberyard and kitchen design showroom, our team knew we wanted to partner with an organization as part of our community giving. After a few meetings with Amy and her Habitat for Humanity team, we announced in July 2020 that Hancock Lumber would donate 100% of the building materials for this new home in Saco.

A well attended outdoor ceremony brought together those closest to the project – Sarah’s family and friends, a cohort of Habitat for Humanity volunteers, their board members, Sarah’s Habitat family advocate, banking partners, and a few members of Team Hancock. Sarah’s five boys greeted guests, handing out programs while smiling ear to ear welcoming everyone–and, one son was even celebrating his 7th birthday!

Rob Riley, Steve Rickert, and Erin Plummer represented Team Hancock and were honored to present Sarah and her boys with the keys to their new home. Click the image below to watch a brief video from the home dedication – you don’t want to miss hearing directly from Sarah  on what this home means to her and her family!

“Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.”
