Hancock Lumber Earns Forest Products Group Trust Safety Award

Safety First!
Lisa Potvin, HR

Congratulations to Hancock Lumber on earning the Forest Products Group Trust Safety Award for “Most Effective Claims Management”! Each year the Forest Products Group Trust hands out safety awards in several categories to deserving members. Of the 24 companies that are members, Hancock Lumber was selected as the top performer in claims management for 2020! Please join us in recognizing all the extra time and effort Lisa Potvin put into managing claims for our company last year. What a challenging year for all of us! Because of her diligence and efforts, the Forest Products Group Trust recognized Hancock Lumber for their excellent claims management.

“Lisa, you are such an important part of this safety award. So, on behalf of all of us here in Human Resources, here’s a big ‘THANK YOU’ for all of your support and commitment to helping us manage claims last year. Great job, Lisa!”

–Gregg Speed, Safety Director, Hancock Lumber

FPGT award

Safety VideoThe Forest Products Group Trust (FPGT) was formed in 1993 to address an urgent need for quality, affordable workers’ compensation insurance for those in the forest products industry at a time when Maine had no good options for such insurance. Today, the Trust is going strong and continues to provide safety and financial rewards to its members. The FPGT attracts members who are serious about safety and committed to creating a strong loss prevention culture in their companies.

Team Hancock is proud of our safety-first culture . Undoubtedly, safety is our #1 priority and it is everyone’s responsibility-every minute of every day. No task or performance goal is so important that safety should be jeopardized in order to accomplish it. Work place safety is an absolute team sport. Watch this short video highlighting safety, our #1 core value!

Hancock Lumber’s sawmill operations are also a frequent recipient of the annual NeLMA safety awards recognizing their teams and operations for outstanding safety performances.
