Exciting New Hires at Hancock Lumber

“It has always been a top priority at Hancock Lumber to employ and attract knowledgeable individuals to build our team around and I feel fortunate to have such a great team of people on-board. Equally exciting is being able to expand our top talent with people of this caliber; people who genuinely love our industry and are wired for building service relationships with contractors. It is an exciting time right now with our economy moving in a positive direction and feeling well poised with a stellar lineup of talent, all willing and able to step up and take responsibility for running our business!” – Wendy Scribner, Hancock Lumber HR Director

NEW HIRES

a_lewisAdam Lewis joined Hancock Lumber Kennebunk’s team at the end of May as an Account Manager. Adam is an enthusiastic seller and brings plenty of industry experience to the job! He most recently worked selling Pella Windows and Doors, but also ran his own building contractor business out of Biddeford prior to that. Adam lives in Biddeford and has been a welcomed addition to the Kennebunk selling team and brings great relationship building skills. He knows the industry well and we are happy to have him join the team to service builders in Southern Maine.
matt_nasonHancock Lumber hired a new seller, Matt Nason, who will eventually replace Larry Odell at the Yarmouth location after his retirement in 2016. Matt has been in the building industry for most of his career, both as a builder and a supplier. Most recently, Matt worked inside sales at ABC Supply in Portland. He will be assisting our counter staff for a couple months learning Hancock’s customers, products, systems, and procedures. Matt will then transition to an inside sales position, and ultimately become an Account Manager for the Yarmouth store.
s_courtsAnother new face joining Hancock Lumber is our newest Project Pro located in Yarmouth, Stephen Courts. Stephen joined Team Hancock in June, after relocating to the Portland area. He brings several years’ experience in the lumber business with him. Having two project pros in Yarmouth will allow us to continue to focus and grow our small contractor and residential project business. Please stop in and say hi the next time you’re in Yarmouth!

t_jordanEarlier this year, we were fortunate enough to hire Tom Jordan to be part of our commercial sales team as an Account Manager! Many of you might recognize Tom from his previous years at Brockway-Smith Company and more recently, Andersen Corporation, where he worked as a business development specialist for over three years.
