Hooray! Hancock Named 2014 Best Place to Work in Maine!

BPTW_Maine_2014_logoHancock Lumber has been named a 2014 Best Place to Work in Maine! Thanks to all our wonderful customers and co-workers for making it a great place to come to work every day. It truly is a partnership and we value your commitment to Hancock Lumber!

“Creating a great work environment takes a sustained commitment from every person in the organization. Employees lead by being collaborative, engaged and enthusiastic. Supervisors lead by listening and responding to feedback and ideas from the team. Everyone plays a big role in a best place to work.”

– Kevin Hancock, President
Hancock Lumber Company

Best Places to work is a statewide program that identifies, recognizes and honors the best places of employment in Maine. 70 Maine companies were selected this year and the rankings are determined by Best Companies Group, an independent survey group. 75% of the ranking is based on employee responses to the survey questions and 25% comes from their review of  company policy, procedure and best practices.

When you look through the honored best companies in Maine you might notice that not many retailers or manufacturers have received this honor over the years. For a company with two core businesses like ours in retail and manufacturing, Hancock Lumber is extremely proud to be in the final ranking list!
