Three mills in Maine:

The World's Finest Pine Comes From Hancock Lumber

The Hancock Lumber Company has been doing business in Maine since 1848. What began as a timber harvesting company along the Sebago Lake waterways is today the largest privately owned lumber company in Northern New England, employing nearly 650 people, and operating a diverse array of integrated businesses.

Hancock Lumber operates three state-of-the-art sawmills located in Casco, Bethel, and Pittsfield, Maine. Each year, we manufacture approximately 70 million board feet of Eastern White Pine from forests where sustainable growth is the guiding principle.

Hancock Lumber’s sister company, Hancock Land Company, is the largest private timberland owner in Southern Maine with more than 40,000 acres of FSC Certified Eastern White Pine forest. Hancock Land’s team of professional foresters is recognized throughout Northern New England, and timberland owners regularly hire the company to manage their selective harvesting needs.

Forest Stewardship Council Certified
The Forest Stewardship Council is a non-profit organization devoted to the responsible management of the world’s forests, and their FSC certification is recognized by environmental organizations throughout the world including Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, and the World Wildlife Fund.
